Avelino Law, LLP is a boutique law firm specializing in trusts and estates, located in Florham Park, New Jersey. We have an immediate opening for a Trusts and Estates Paralegal to add to our growing practice group.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare New Jersey and New York probate petitions and other related forms.
• Prepare correspondence, meet with clients to notarize, witness, and sign documents, and ensure all deadlines are met.
• Prepare federal and state estate and inheritance tax returns.
• Prepare estate and trust accountings.
• Prepare appropriate release documents for estate distributions and assist with transfers of estate property to beneficiaries.
• Continuously review and update case progress, determine case closure, and keep matters moving seamlessly.
• Assist in business formation and corporate maintenance programs.
• Complete assignments independently in a timely manner to meet deadlines.
• Communicate with clients and manage the workflow in a timely manner while handling responsibility for the matter.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 3+ years relevant Estate Administration experience supporting a legal practice required.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Kofax [Adobe]; knowledge of CCH tax return software a plus.
• The right candidate must efficiently organize and prioritize numerous tasks, complete them on time with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Expert ability to manage case files from inception to completion, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of the entire estate administration process.
• Must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as a team member.
• Strong research, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
• Enthusiastic, articulate, a quick study, friendly, dependable, punctual, a team player, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
