Overview

The Travel & Expense (T&E) Accounting Coordinator supports the Global Director of Travel & Expense Management with the global corporate card accrual process. This role will work closely with the Corporate Sourcing and Accounting teams to ensure corporate card accruals are posted accurately and timely.

This role works directly with Gallagher’s local and international company-paid card program administrators. Critical components of this role include training card program administrators on monthly accounting accrual processes, collecting card statement reports, tracking payments to card providers, monitoring personal use of company-paid cards, and ensuring cardholders’ timely completion of monthly reconciliations in Concur.

How you'll make an impact

  • Train local and international card program administrators on monthly accrual and reconciliation requirements.
  • Create and update user guides and other training materials as necessary.
  • Maintain familiarity with the various global card programs and their similarities/differences.
  • Work jointly with Accounting department to ensure monthly accruals are completed as required.
  • Develop expertise in Concur’s Intelligence reporting tool, American Express’ reporting tool and Gallagher’s financial reporting tools to produce ad-hoc reports on employee expenses.
  • Support future international implementations of Concur Expense, including coordinating the setup of new card program feeds.
  • Drive efficiencies and business process improvements related to corporate card program management by:
    • Make recommendations on policy clarifications and updates. 
    • Make recommendations for employee communication and training.
  • Other project work supporting the Sourcing & Procurement department as required.
About You

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree (Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration) and 2 years of related experience required.

Highly Preferred: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business discipline 
  • Three to five years of progressive experience in corporate accounting or finance
  • Experience preparing and reconciling monthly accruals for incurred corporate card expenses
  • Basic familiarity with expense reimbursement/payables operations
  • Experience with presenting financial information to develop consensus and buy-in for data-based decisions
  • Related work experience in accounting, financial operations, or credit card program administration
  • Familiarity with General Ledger coding principles  
  • Experience with Microsoft Office; proficiency in Excel
  • SAP Concur Expense and Concur Intelligence Reporting experience (desired)
