Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Sr. SEO Specialist to join our growing team. This role is ideal for an experienced SEO professional who excels in both strategy and execution. As a Sr. SEO Specialist, you will guide the development and implementation of SEO strategies on and off-site in alignment with goals meant to increase performance for agreed upon KPIs. This role will be highly collaborative where you will work with cross-functional teams to deliver data-driven campaigns and measurable results.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy:

  • Demonstrate a holistic understanding of on-site and off-site SEO strategies.
  • Create comprehensive SEO strategies and determine associated activities that are tailored to client objectives
  • Conduct competitive analysis to identify opportunities and gaps in search performance.
  • Collaborate with clients to establish goals and select clear KPIs for evaluating the success of SEO campaigns
  • Routine assessment of new approaches and tactics that could improve efficiency and/or performance of SEO campaigns.

Copy Based SEO

  • Perform keyword research based on established goals and target audience.
  • Author metadata and maintain Meta Map documents as needed
  • Optimize copy for specific keywords in accordance with SEO best practices
  • Internal linking with keyword rich anchor text to improve rankings and help search engines understand the website’s content hierarchy.
  • Identify opportunities to improve readability of content and outline associated tactics
  • Identify content duplication and outline associated remediation
  • Identify content bloat, opportunities to consolidate pages, and outline associated tactics
  • Create abstract and framework for optimization nurturing assets like blog posts

Content and Outreach:

  • Develop content strategies to target specific search intents and demographics.
  • Plan and execute link-building campaigns, focusing on high-quality, relevant links.

Technical SEO

  • Monitor site health, update associated documentation and work with development to remediate any issues as needed.
  • Implement minor site updates that don’t require advanced development knowledge
  • Maintain robots.txt and XML sitemap
  • Advise on URL structure and ensure URLs are SEO-friendly
  • Advise on redirect strategy and map redirects when needed
  • Advise on site architecture, ensuring website content is organized logically with clear hierarchy
  • Canonicalization strategy and implementation of associated canonical tags meant to indicate the preferred version of a page in cases of duplicate content.
  • Ensure sites are secured with SSL certificate and use
  • Ensure website is mobile-friendly and responsive
  • Structured data markup strategy and authoring of JSON-LD markup
  • Optimize crawlability and indexation
  • Manage Google Search Console and monitor indexation/core web vitals.
  • Support web builds and consolidations when SEO is a major consideration.

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Monitor website performance using tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, ScreamingFrog etc.
  • Analyze performance data, author insights, and create actionable recommendations.
  • Lead performance reporting presentations to client stakeholders.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to clients unique KPIs
  • Administer and update reporting dashboards and documents on various platforms like Google Looker Studio.

Collaboration and Teamwork:

  • Work closely with web developers, content creators, and paid search specialists and other subject matter experts to align efforts across digital channels.
  • Mentor junior team members in SEO best practices and execution.

Tools and Technology:

  • Utilize SEO tools like Google Search Console, BrightLocal, SEMrush, or Ahrefs to manage and analyze local SEO campaigns.
  • Utilize analytics and reporting tools like Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Google Tag Manager (GTM) and Google Looker Studio.
  • Implement tools and processes to manage and scale multi-location SEO strategies effectively.

Experience & Requirements:

  • Experience: 4-7 years of experience in SEO with a proven track record of success in managing SEO at scale.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of Technical SEO
  • Content Expertise: Experience in optimizing content in accordance with SEO best practices and in alignment with specific audience needs.
  • Analytical Mindset: Proficiency in tools like Google Analytics, Search Console, and SEO-specific platforms to analyze performance and inform strategy.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot complex SEO issues and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to present strategies and reports to clients and internal teams.
  • Project Management: Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
