Reports To: Sr. Manager,Facilities Management & Construction - US

Hourly Rate: $43 - $50

JOB SUMMARY – What it’s all about

The position of Senior HVAC-R Technician will be based in NYC and will be part of the FM&C team. This role will oversee the US-wide HVAC-R Program and have manager responsibilities. The role will be reporting directly to the Sr. Manager, Facilities Management & Construction – US.

This position is responsible for the organization, leadership and execution of complex HVAC-R activities without direct supervision and in accordance with approved JOE policies, procedures and project plans. The Sr. HVAC-R Technician is expected to collaborate with leadership, vendors and cross-functional stakeholders on obsolescence management, special projects, and system/work process improvements. The Senior Technician will require a thorough understanding of safe work practices and is Expert in all aspects of commercial HVAC-R troubleshooting, maintenance, repair and replacement. This highly experienced and skilled individual will also be expected to lead and mentor diverse team members in other Markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides specialized technical expertise and guidance to other technicians.
  • Collaborates with leadership, vendors and contractors to coordinate resources and resolve complex issues as it relates to HVAC-Rsystems.
  • Manages all HVAC-R work orders across all markets.
  • Assists in developing, implementing and maintaining SOPs, company policies, and processes as it relates to the US-wide HVAC-RProgram.
  • Executes and/or assists in all aspects of HVAC-R project implementation to include but not limited to all phases of planning anddesign to installation and commissioning.
  • Prepares business cases, solicits design proposals, completes RFPs and executes applicable contracts.
  • Assists with scheduling, budgeting, reporting, cost control, and inspections/monitoring as it relates to the US-wide HVAC-R Program.

Key Qualifications:

  • High School diploma and above with 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in HVAC-R installation and service
  • EPA Certification required
  • Demonstrated ability to work and communicate professionally, verbally, and in written form with internal and external partners
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and have strong interpersonal skills to work in a team environmentacross multiple markets and time zones
  • Excellent time management, organizational, coordination, critical thinking, judgment, and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrated ability to perform and manage technically complex projects using independent judgment and personal initiative
  • Must be flexible for travel and working off-hours as needed for project requirements
  • Services, maintains, repairs and replaces HVAC and refrigeration related equipment according to manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Diagnoses root causes of failures in heating, air conditioning and refrigeration systems for the purpose of identifying equipment or systems repair and replacement needs.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints, specifications and diagrams.
  • Obtains or fabricates replacement parts for the purpose of meeting specialty needs and/or replacing unavailable parts.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite
  • Proficiency in a Computerized Maintenance Management System preferred
  • Must possess a valid New York driver's license
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 50lbs
  • Must be able to climb stairs/ladders and work on scaffolding
