Job Title: Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer

Location: Hazlet, New Jersey

Salary: Up to $150,000 per year + Full Benefits (Stock Options Available)

Overview:

We are looking for a talented Software Quality Assurance Engineer to join our dynamic Engineering team. You will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of our cutting-edge Linux-based application stack, which includes service daemons, REST APIs, and a web-based user interface. This is a hands-on role within a collaborative Scrum team, ideal for an individual who is passionate about quality and thrives in an Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be an integral part of a Scrum team, participating in stand-ups, backlog grooming, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
  • Collaborate closely with developers to understand features and user stories for testing.
  • Develop, document, and execute functional test plans for REST APIs and web applications.
  • Design and maintain automated test suites using PyTest and Playwright .
  • Install and configure software on Linux systems, including setting up virtual machines.
  • Perform integration testing to validate end-to-end functionality and performance.
  • Maintain and upgrade systems, agents, servers, and backup applications as needed.
  • Conduct regression and compatibility testing, including third-party software updates.
  • Investigate and document bugs, and collaborate with the Support team on customer-reported issues.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • 4+ Proficiency in Linux environments and Bash scripting. (Experience testing applications that run on Linux)
  • Experience with Python and/OR JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Familiarity with REST APIs and tools like Postman and cURL .
  • Hands-on experience with UI testing frameworks such as Playwright or Selenium .
  • Strong understanding of SSH and command-line operations.

Nice to haves:

  • Exposure to C/C++ .
  • Experience with Jira , Git , and GitHub .
  • Familiarity with cloud-based environments.
  • Experience with Docker containers.
  • Understanding of database structures, backup, encryption, and file systems.

Experience Requirements:

  • Proven experience in software QA, including writing and executing test plans.
  • Experience testing enterprise applications in a Linux environment.
  • Skilled in both manual and automated testing practices.
  • Comfortable working independently and within cross-functional teams.
