The Role:

The project architect will work with project management teams to manage and aid in production of the architect aspects of various multi-disciplinary projects. Reviewing documents, designing solutions for existing buildings & site investigations & inspections will feature.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead architectural or multi-discipline projects, coordinating with design teams, consultants, clients, contractors, and agencies.
  • Prepare project documentation for client approvals and permits.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager on project progress and staffing needs.
  • Implement architectural procedures and techniques, including repair, restoration, and adaptive reuse.
  • Supervise project teams for efficient and coordinated work.
  • Mentor junior team members with regular feedback.
  • Ensure project deliverables meet company standards.
  • Perform construction administration tasks, ensuring contractor compliance with drawings and specifications.
  • Review RFIs, shop drawings, and submittals; issue instructions or addenda.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress & assess existing sites on addition, restoration or renovation projects.
  • Prepare field reports and resolve conflicts or deviations.
  • Review change order requests and assist in value engineering.
  • Perform construction walkthroughs and verify close-out documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in architecture (Master's preferred)
  • 8+ years' experience in the field of architecture.
  • Professional Architectural Licensure in NYS
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Team & Project management experience
