Job Summary

FireRock Building Materials is hiring an Operations Manager to lead outbound operations at our Birmingham manufacturing facility. This is a hands-on role with responsibility for ensuring all outbound shipments are prepared, staged, and delivered accurately and on time. In addition to daily execution, this role plays a key part in maintaining shipping quality, coordinating cross-functional logistics, and driving continuous improvements in shipping operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and execute all outbound shipments, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and product integrity
• Manage shipping documentation and coordinate with freight carriers (LTL, flatbed, etc.)
• Serve as the primary point of contact for outbound logistics, both internally and with customers
• Operate forklifts and other equipment to move, stage, and load product
• Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient shipping environment
• Monitor and improve processes to reduce errors, delays, and freight costs
• Identify and address operational bottlenecks or quality issues related to shipping

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse operations
• Proven track record working with freight carriers and managing outbound logistics
• Forklift experience required; certification preferred
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and thrive in a fast-paced, physical environment
• Proactive problem solver with a continuous improvement mindset
