Diversity, Belonging, Inclusion, and Equity at Enroot

Creating a sense of belonging is at the heart of our work with immigrant students. At Enroot, we value an inclusive environment where all team members feel a sense of belonging and are fully included as partners in our pursuit of the mission. We are an organization committed to disrupting and dismantling the oppressive power structures and systemic barriers immigrants must navigate. With humility, we are committed to ongoing learning and understanding as we embark on our journey toward racial equity, driving every decision we make and every action we take in the pursuit of equity for immigrants. A diversity of voices fosters innovation and creativity, leading to more informed decisions and better outcomes for immigrant students, families, and communities. Enroot is an equal opportunity employer and as such, we do not discriminate on any basis protected by law.

The Opportunity

Enroot is reimagining how immigrant students are supported not just to graduate, but to thrive in their postsecondary and career journeys. The Manager of College Access & Workforce Readiness Partnerships is a strategic, student- and systems-facing leadership role responsible for building a robust, integrated approach to college and career readiness across grades 9–12.

In alignment with the World Economic Forum’s Future of Jobs Report 2025, which underscores the rapid pace of labor market change and the increasing demand for adaptable, skills-based preparation, this role ensures immigrant youth have access to the competencies, networks, and experiences to navigate and succeed in a shifting economy.

As the organization's public-facing leader for career and college readiness, this role is central to embedding industry-aligned opportunities within Enroot’s Success Labs model and increasing the organization’s visibility across Greater Boston’s education and workforce ecosystem. By leveraging a strong network of external partners—including employers, training providers, and higher education institutions—this position bridges school-based advising with real-world, future-focused opportunities. Whether preparing students for college, technical training, or direct workforce entry, the role ensures that Success Labs are both responsive to industry trends and deeply connected to the aspirations of the students we serve. This role will report to the Executive Director.

Enroot is currently operating on a hybrid work schedule; this position requires the candidate to be operating in person at the Cambridge Rindge and Latin High School and Somerville High School, Tuesday to Thursday, and every other Monday at the Enroot office in Cambridge.

Key Responsibilities

External Partnerships & Career Pathways Development (30%)

  • Design and implement a robust Career & Workforce Readiness strategy that aligns student interests with high-demand industries.
  • Build and steward external partnerships with local employers, community colleges, technical schools, training providers, and workforce development agencies (e.g., Franklin Cummings Tech, MassHire, Year Up, UMass Network).
  • Co-develop, sustain, and evaluate partnerships that support co-designed and co-delivered programming within Success Labs and career-advising structures with the support of Enroot’s program team.
  • Coordinate industry-aligned experiences (e.g., job shadows, site visits, career fairs, alumni panels) across Somerville and Cambridge.
  • Represent Enroot as a visible and trusted partner in Greater Boston's workforce and postsecondary landscape—expanding the organization's reach, influence, and student opportunity pipelines.

Student Advising & Coaching (30%)

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group advising for 9th–12th grade students on college access, job readiness, and postsecondary planning.
  • Support students with college applications, FAFSA and financial aid, scholarship searches, resume writing, interview prep, and work-based learning opportunities—leveraging AI-powered platforms, partners, and Enroot volunteers to personalize support and expand access to high-quality advising tools.
  • Coach students who pursue non-traditional pathways, such as technical training, trades, or direct-to-workforce, to research and apply towards programs, jobs, or training, etc., including undocumented and unenrolled youth.
  • Collaborate with Enroot Site Program Directors, school career counselors, and school counselors to ensure early identification and tiered advising across high school years.

School and Community Partnerships (20%)

  • Serve as Enroot’s lead liaison to Cambridge Rindge & Latin School and Somerville High School and build strong relationships with students, families, and school staff to align programming and student supports.
  • Collaborate with school-based teams to identify opportunities for school and Enroot partnerships to ensure access to wraparound supports.
  • Cultivate partnerships with community-based organizations that address broader student needs, including mental health, housing, legal aid, and enrichment.

Program Design, Success Labs Integration & Management (15%)

  • Lead the development of Success Labs programming that integrates postsecondary planning, career exploration, and real-world learning.
  • Use Salesforce to track student outcomes and provide data-informed program improvements.
  • Analyze trends in college access, workforce engagement, and student persistence to inform program strategy.
  • Support development and grant reporting alongside the Executive Director and Program Team.

Alumni Engagement & Reconnection (5%)

  • Pilot light-touch alumni engagement strategies in partnership with the Executive Director and Program Team.
  • Support the re-engagement of recent graduates who are not currently enrolled in school or work and offer guidance toward reentry pathways.

Candidate Profile

  • A mission-aligned leader committed to racial equity and immigrant student success.
  • 3-5 years of experience in youth development, workforce development, or college and career advising; previous external partnership leadership preferred.
  • Skilled at building trust and fostering strong relationships with students, educators, employers, parents, and community partners.
  • Systems-oriented thinker and strong communicator, able to influence across institutions and develop innovative models of practice.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and initiative.
  • Knowledge of youth psychology is preferred, with experience in career counseling, youth education/services, social work, or related fields; direct experience with high school students is a plus.
  • Well-versed in postsecondary options for first-generation, immigrant, and multilingual students, including alternative and workforce pathways.
  • Experience building programs from concept to design to execution.
  • Experience or comfort with or willingness to learn and implement emerging technologies, including AI-powered tools, to enhance program efficiency, storytelling, and student engagement.
  • Comfortable navigating Salesforce or a similar CRM platform.
  • Multilingual and/or familiar with Greater Boston immigrant communities; Spanish, Portuguese, or Haitian Creole speaking ability preferred.
