Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

• Ensure food safety and compliance with legal standards.
• Maintain the operation of machinery and equipment by performing preventative maintenance and addressing mechanical issues.
• Identify sources of malfunctions by observing machinery in operation.
• Diagnose electrical issues using a Digital Multimeter (DMM).
• Adhere to lockout/tagout procedures and have the knowledge to develop these procedures.
• Minimize machine downtime by informing production teams and supervisors about scheduled maintenance, and by carrying out necessary repairs.
• Monitor equipment and parts inventory, reporting shortages of supplies or parts needed for repairs.
• Maintain and lubricate machinery, ensuring the correct lubricants are used for specific applications.
• Program Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) on conveyor systems.
• Troubleshoot issues with relays, switches, and motors.
• Perform a variety of tasks related to the maintenance, repair, and installation of equipment.
• Management of chemical and mechanical processes (water, gas, air, hydraulic systems, painting, building repairs, sanitation procedures, calibration, electrical repair, VFDs, etc.).
• Lead and manage advanced projects independently.
• Respond to production calls, prioritizing based on product flow and urgency.
• Foster a positive, collaborative work environment within the department and across teams, promoting teamwork.
• Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Safety Standards (OSHA).
• Apply food safety principles and legal requirements effectively.
• Provide ongoing training to operations teams.
• Assist with tasks as needed to maintain workflow or meet production needs.
• Comply with all safety and GMP protocols, including Lockout/Tagout.
• Support daily operations and performance goals by quickly troubleshooting and repairing equipment to minimize production downtime.
• Complete assigned preventative maintenance tasks.
• Utilize appropriate lubricants for food facilities.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

• High School Diploma required.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in Industrial Maintenance.
• Strong understanding of electrical safety protocols (including ARCFLASH).
• Experience with lathes, mill, welders.
• Ability to operate a forklift.
• Availability to work extra hours or adjust schedules with minimal notice.
• Drug screening and background check required.
• Electrical experience desired.
