Job Description

As a Network and Systems Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in implementing and managing our client's cutting-edge network infrastructure. This position demands a unique blend of technical prowess in networking and server administration, coupled with strong project management skills. You'll be at the forefront of ensuring high availability, optimal performance, and ironclad security across all our facilities.

Your day-to-day will involve designing and deploying robust network solutions, managing both physical and virtual servers, and leading complex IT projects from conception to completion. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, operations, and vendors, to drive strategic initiatives and seamlessly integrate new technologies. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Configure and deploy enterprise-level network solutions, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points.
  • Manage, configure, and maintain physical and virtual servers across Linux and Windows environments.
  • Lead network and server-related projects, managing timelines, resources, and stakeholder communications.
  • Implement and manage monitoring tools for network and server performance, providing data-driven recommendations for improvements.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for network and server architecture, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for complex network and server issues.
  • Collaborate with IT teams, operations, and vendors to identify requirements and support strategic initiatives.

Required Experience/Skills

  • 3-5 years of experience in network engineering and server administration.
  • Strong understanding of networking technologies and protocols (TCP/IP, OSPF, VLANs).
  • Proficiency in managing and configuring server environments (DNS, DHCP, virtualization technologies).
  • Proven experience in managing IT projects, including planning, execution, and reporting.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring and diagnostic tools (e.g., Wireshark, Zabbix).
  • Proficiency in Linux and Windows operating systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and personal vehicle for travel within the Leesburg area.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience working in data center environments.
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies and hybrid infrastructure setups.
  • Familiarity with automation and scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
  • Experience with container technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Relevant certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or JNCIS-ENT.
