### Job Summary:
As an Assistant Bookkeeper in the Business Management Department, you will play a key role in maintaining financial records and ensuring compliance by accurately managing accounts payable and receivable, processing financial transactions, and handling reconciliations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with numbers, problem-solving, and collaborating in a dynamic environment.
### Key Responsibilities:
- Efficiently process and track accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Maintain organized records of transactions, invoices, and vendor relationships to support smooth financial operations.
- Regularly reconcile multiple bank accounts and financial statements, identifying and resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Oversee and manage financial records for multiple clients, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded.
- Maintain accurate ledgers for each client and assist in preparing financial reports as needed.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes by ensuring all entries are correct and up to date.
- Assist in preparing internal financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and other summaries.
- Help with tax filings, including processing 1099s and supporting the preparation of quarterly and annual tax returns.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, as well as company policies.
- Handle administrative tasks such as scanning, mailing, and document management as needed.
- Perform additional bookkeeping and clerical duties as assigned.
### Qualifications:
#### Required:
- 2-3 years of bookkeeping experience in a business management firm.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and QuickBooks Online.
#### Preferred:
- Experience with Datafaction/AgilLink.
- Knowledge of 1099 processing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
### Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in financial reporting.
- Ability to multi-task and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented mindset.
### Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds as needed.
