JOB TITLE: Driver Trainer

REPORTS TO: SVC Manager
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To plan, organize and direct a wide range of training activities for a wide range of employees in Transportation. Conduct and supervise training and develop programs for employees to improve & maintain safety standards, improve employee’s skills, and build morale. This is highly responsible position performing a wide variety of functions for Avesta Drivers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
EXPERIENCE: A high school diploma or GED required. CDL and five years’ experience driving tractor trailer; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job as listed above preferred.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Yes.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Bilingual in Spanish a plus.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest rates, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and statistics. This includes a basic understanding of regression, forecasting, and general statistics.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
