About the position...

The Training & Development Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing training programs across property management, construction, corporate office, and safety/emergency preparedness functions. This role works closely with HR personnel, department heads, and executive leadership to enhance job performance, compliance, and safety. This role involves assessing training needs, creating engaging learning materials, delivering effective training sessions, and coordinating mandatory compliance programs to ensure workforce development and continuous improvement.

  • Conduct in-person and virtual training sessions using interactive and engaging instructional methods.
  • Train supervisors and subject matter experts (SMEs) on effective employee training techniques.
  • Collaborate with outside consultants to effectively present training programs for mid-level and senior-level managers.
  • Evaluate and recommend training materials prepared by third parties.
  • Assess training effectiveness through feedback, post-training assessments, and performance metrics.
  • Create and manage Learning Management System (LMS) content, training manuals, and job aids.
  • Organize and schedule onboarding programs to ensure new hires understand company policies, industry regulations, and job-specific requirements.
  • Assess skills gaps and training needs for property management, maintenance staff, construction teams, and corporate office employees.
  • Work with department leaders to customize training solutions that improve efficiency, compliance, and employee growth.
  • Implement safety and emergency response training for field and office employees covering topics such as OSHA standards, job site safety, property maintenance protocols, and emergency procedures.
  • Conduct safety audits and training sessions on workplace hazards, personal protective equipment (PPE), and emergency preparedness.
  • Review accident/incident reports and recommend targeted safety training to minimize risks.
  • Maintain and track accurate records of training attendance, completion, assessments, expiration dates, and certifications.
  • Ensure employees complete mandatory compliance training (OSHA, Fair Housing, Harassment).
  • Develop a company-wide training calendar in collaboration with senior management.
  • Work with the HR Director and Executive Management to develop a budget for training and maintain expenses within the approved budget.

What we are looking for from you...

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Business Administration, Construction Management, Instructional Design, or a related field.
  • Minimum 8-10 years’ experience in training development, instructional design, corporate training, safety training, or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of instructional design, adult learning principles, and training methodologies.
  • Ability to assess training needs and develop customized learning solutions.
  • Experience developing LMS-based training, e-learning modules, and hands-on instructional materials.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to work with diverse employee groups, from field construction teams to corporate executives.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 and presentation software.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to construction sites and off-site properties.

Preferred Certifications...

  • Instructor or teacher certification (CPTD, ATD, PSFA Instructor 1, DOA, CCC, etc.)
  • Certifications: NFPA, CISM, SHARP, CPR/AED, DDT trainer, Certified Safety Professional (CSP), etc.
  • ICS 100, 200, 300, 400, or DSCA type courses.
  • Proficiency in Yardi, UKG
