Job Description

The Senior Chemical Manufacuturing Manager provides leadership and management across all aspects of the plant's operations, including Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS), production, quality control, maintenance, engineering, and logistics. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, leading roadmap initiatives, and ensuring alignment with strategic goals, cost objectives, and customer expectations. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this position is a key member of the site leadership team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead EHS initiatives to ensure a safe work environment and full compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
  • Oversee daily operations of solvent and water-based manufacturing to meet quality, schedule, and cost targets.
  • Drive continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, and other quality methodologies to enhance production flow and reduce waste.
  • Guide the implementation of the plant's strategic roadmap, ensuring alignment with long-term business objectives.
  • Foster employee engagement and development by setting clear expectations, providing coaching, and creating growth opportunities.
  • Collaborate with HR to manage union relationships and support a positive labor environment.
  • Coordinate with supply chain functions to ensure effective inventory management, procurement, and logistics support.
  • Communicate operational goals and progress with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and support.
  • Support quality assurance and process improvement initiatives within the resin operation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Chemistry.
  • Minimum of 10 years of industrial management experience in chemical manufacturing.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience managing cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge in production, EHS, and quality systems.
  • Experience with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies (Black or Green Belt preferred).
  • Strong project management skills with a track record of successful implementation.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and lead strategic initiatives.
