Second Shift Lead - Manufacturing Operations
Location: Northeast Houston, TX.

We are seeking an experienced and driven Second Shift Lead to join the production team. This role is critical to ensuring smooth, safe, and efficient operations during the second shift. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can motivate a team, drive results, and maintain high standards of safety and quality.

Schedule & Pay :

  • Pay Rate : $26 per hour.
  • Schedule : Monday - Friday, 3:30 PM - 2:30 AM.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, coach, and develop production team members on the second shift to achieve daily goals.
  • Oversee employee performance and provide feedback to ensure productivity and quality standards are met.
  • Assign tasks to employees and monitor workflow to maintain efficient operations.
  • Act as a primary point of contact between shifts, coordinating with the first shift lead to ensure orders ship out on time.
  • Enforce all safety protocols, conduct safety briefings, and promptly address hazards or incidents.
  • Lock up the warehouse after the shift ends and arm security systems.
  • Monitor product quality and collaborate with Quality Control to resolve any deviations.
  • Write up employees who are not meeting daily performance expectations.
  • Coordinate with Production Management and Maintenance to address equipment issues and material requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of production output, downtime, and shift performance metrics.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute ideas to enhance efficiency and safety.
  • Serve as backup to Production Supervisor as needed.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of production processes, safety standards, and quality systems.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships and hold team members accountable.
  • Flexibility to work overtime or adjust schedule as production demands require.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
