Job Description

Safety Manager to assist with the implementation and management of the Site-specific Health and Safety Plan in conjunction with the ongoing projects in Groton, CT. Global Insight’s Safety Professional will be sufficiently experienced and knowledgeable in the safe work practices associated with the project scope of work. Specific responsibilities of our Safety Professionals may include:

• Responsible for in-field safety inspections and data entry into the Construction Safety Observation database, distribution and follow up on observations with applicable contractors/vendor.
• Responsible for the daily implementation of elements of the Contractor Safety program at the Groton site, further referred to as “areas within scope”.
• Be proactive in providing safety services at the areas within scope to protect people, reduce risk, and to strive for continuous improvement in safety performance, specifically for areas within scope.
• Responsible for the weekly delivery of the Contractor General Safety Briefing.
• Assist with the incident investigation process related to construction and maintenance vendors, including trend analysis, metrics, and reporting to management.
• Provide training on appropriate topics in an effective manner as required.
• Contribute to the implementation and maintenance of Management Systems that support and enhance areas within scope.
• Prepare internal and external written communications.
• Assist with Job Hazard Analysis review and approval process.
• Support monthly permitting process (LOTO, CSE, Safe Work Permits etc.).
• Assist in the the authorization of required permits (crane use/lift plan, penetration/demolition, excavation, etc.).

Compensation:

$70-120k

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching.
