About the Job

The Producer/Editor is responsible for collaborating with broadcast meteorologists to create content for all broadcasts. The Producer/Editor will work to produce live and taped segments, curate and edit video as well as produce radio and digital-related content for affiliate properties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Experienced video editor on Adobe Premier
  • Familiarity with Dalet software preferred
  • Edit forecasting segments from :10 to 3:00 minutes in length
  • Produce live and taped segments from concept to completion
  • Coordinate with affiliates during extreme weather events
  • Trouble-shoots content and technical issues on taped segments
  • Manage logistics for content delivery to affiliates

Education, Experience, Certification Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in communications or related subject preferred
  • 2 years newsroom experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong non-linear editing skills preferred
  • Ability to coordinate logistics across newsrooms
  • Excellent collaborative skills and ability to work well on a team
  • Ability to work as a self-starter with minimum supervision
  • Strong knowledge of multi-platform production techniques and language
  • Excellent Written/Verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high pressure environment without sacrificing accuracy and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively coordinate multiple tasks and able to react to spontaneous changes in priorities
