Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Client Acquisition:

  • Bring existing clients and relationships to position
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the Houston market.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with developers, municipalities, and key industry stakeholders.
  • Lead proposals, presentations, and negotiations to secure new projects.

Office Leadership & Operations:

  • Establish and grow the Houston office, including hiring and managing staff.
  • Provide mentorship, training, and performance management for team members.
  • Ensure the office operates efficiently while maintaining high-quality project delivery.

Project & Technical Oversight:

  • Lead land development projects from concept to completion, ensuring quality, budget, and timeline adherence.
  • Provide technical guidance and ensure compliance with local regulations and codes.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including architects, surveyors, and contractors.

Financial & P&L Management:

  • Oversee office financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and profitability.
  • Monitor project budgets, invoicing, and cash flow to ensure financial success.
  • Drive strategic growth and operational efficiency for long-term success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas (or ability to obtain quickly).
  • 7+ years of civil engineering experience with a focus on land development.
  • Proven business development experience with a strong industry network in Texas.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including office/staff management.
  • Strong understanding of local land development regulations and permitting processes.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
