About the Role:

We are looking for a Payroll Analyst candidate to support a privately held hospitality organization with diverse operations across multiple locations. This role requires deep familiarity with California wage and hour laws and hands-on experience configuring Paycom for complex hourly payroll scenarios. The ideal candidate excels in compliance, data integrity, and system optimization, and thrives in environments where precision and adaptability are key. Core Responsibilities:

  • Partner with HR and Finance to ensure payroll practices align with compensation policies
  • Configure Paycom to automate break penalty payments and calculate regular rate of pay
  • Conduct recurring audits to ensure wage accuracy and policy compliance
  • Maintain current knowledge of California labor laws, including wage statements and overtime rules
  • Administer payroll across multiple entities, ensuring timely and compliant processing
  • Analyze payroll data to identify inconsistencies and resolve discrepancies
  • Support internal and external audits with documentation and reporting
  • Recommend process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency and reduce risk exposure
  • Standardize timekeeping practices across locations for consistency and compliance
  • Update and refine payroll procedures, especially for hourly wage earners

Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical skills with experience interpreting large payroll datasets
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Background in accounting or finance is highly desirable
  • Skilled in Paycom configuration, reporting, and troubleshooting
  • Familiar with California wage and hour laws, including enforcement and compliance standards
  • Effective communicator with a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Proven ability to automate complex payroll calculations and compliance workflows
