ABOUT THE SCHOOL/DEPARTMENT
At Powderhorn, we focus on meeting the academic needs of all students while also recognizing the importance of their overall well-being. We maintain unique programming that attends to the whole child, including music, art, physical education, and technology classes for all students. Most importantly, we do this work in partnership with families. As a neighborhood elementary school located in southern Jefferson County serving grades kindergarten through 5th grade, we are proud of the community we have built across home and school. We keep relationships at the center of all we do while learning and growing together.

Additional considerations may be given for job-specific certifications and skills. PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENT
The successful new hire or rehired candidate will be responsible to complete and incur the fingerprinting and processing fee of $54.50 through an appropriate fingerprinting vendor and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, within 48 hours of offer acceptance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
SUMMARY: Perform a full range of educational/non-educational duties for the specific intensive needs of primarily one student.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING: High school diploma/GED required.
EXPERIENCE: No experience required. Prefer one year of related work experience in K-12 school setting.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & EQUIPMENT: Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work with students who have a variety of disabilities.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS: CPI, CPR and First Aid certificates highly recommended. Training provided by the district.
