RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Follow workplace safety practices set forth by Atlas Tube Inc. Policy
• Follow verbal and/or written instructions from Mill Operator/Production Supervisor
• Perform daily crane/hi-lo inspections and report any deficiencies
• Stock mill with coils of the correct size, gauge and quantity
• Using overhead crane, remove and replace mill bases on changeovers
• Using overhead crane, remove mill scrap, band, weigh, tag and store in scrap rack
• Load scrap bundles onto trucks
• Empty mill chopped scrap hopper
• Unload slit/master coil trucks when required
• Store coils in racks (keep like sizes together)
• Complete cycle count sheets when necessary
• During housekeeping handle weights and loads beyond normal functions of a position (shoveling steel sludge, drive shafts)
• Assist in the performance of mill changeovers
• Report any irregularities or malfunctions to managers and/or maintenance
• Assist other operators when required during breakdowns, bottlenecks, and scheduled downtime
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Operate hi-lo as required
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma/GED
• Basic Computer Knowledge
• Ability to use hand held measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, etc.)
• Ability to use cutting torches
• Overhead Crane License
• Hi-Lo License
• Regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance per the posted schedule is an essential function of this role
• Lead and promote health and safety work practices as required by regulatory agencies and company policy
