Job Description

Allied Resources is hiring a Life Sciences, Mechanical Engineer to focus on the design and engineering of HVAC and utilities for buildings. You will work as part of a collaborative team of Mechanical Engineers, contributing to the successful delivery of utility system designs and equipment selection for ground-up Life Sciences projects. This is a 12-month contract-to-hire opportunity with an annualized salary of up to $135,000, depending on experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and engineer HVAC and utility systems for new construction and renovation projects.
  • Perform load calculations, utility assessments, and energy modeling to guide system design.
  • Use Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools and computer-aided drafting (CAD) software to support design and documentation.
  • Document all project phases including conceptual and schematic design, design development, and construction documentation.
  • Develop and maintain accurate system schematics, ensuring design coordination with other disciplines.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering (with a mechanical focus).
  • 5+ years of experience in Life Sciences (Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Laboratory) or Food & Beverage industry experience.
  • Familiarity with mechanical/plumbing/fire/building codes.
  • Understanding of integrated project delivery including Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) processes.
  • Basic experience with performing engineering calculations, and developing and implementing HVAC, mechanical utility and piping systems designs.
