Job Description

A growing and stable Legal team is seeking a skilled and experienced Legal Assistant/Paralegal to join our dynamic Employment Law team in Sacramento. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a firm that values collaboration, innovation, and advocacy. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in supporting attorneys and managing the complex process of filing legal documents in both state and federal courts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and file legal documents (complaints, motions, briefs) in federal and state courts.
  • Ensure strict compliance with court rules and filing procedures.
  • Track case deadlines, court appearances, and maintain organized case calendars.
  • Conduct legal research and assist in drafting pleadings, subpoenas, discovery requests, and settlement agreements.
  • Coordinate with attorneys and legal teams to gather necessary case information.
  • Manage electronic and physical case files with precision.
  • Maintain and update case management systems.
  • Support attorneys in developing legal strategies and arguments.
  • Provide general administrative and litigation support as needed.

Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred (or currently in progress).
  • Paralegal certificate preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of paralegal experience , ideally in Civil Litigation.
  • Experience with PAGA, wage & hour, and class action matters is a plus.
  • Proficient in federal and state court procedures and electronic filing systems (e.g., CM/ECF).
  • Strong understanding of federal laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency in legal software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • High level of discretion and professionalism.

Desired Skills and Experience
