Job Description

Are you an experienced attorney with a passion for estate planning and probate, a natural leader, and a desire for a fulfilling career within a truly team-first environment? At Coastal Legacy Law, we're a rapidly growing and values-driven firm. It sounds cliché, but it's true. We're seeking a Lead Attorney to guide our legal team and play a pivotal role in being part of our continued success.

We are not your average law firm, really, and we're not looking for an average attorney. We are building a legacy of exceptional client service and an incredible, supportive, and growth-oriented team. If you're driven, enterprising in spirit, highly ethical, and deeply value work-life balance within a non-toxic culture, we want you to apply. If this doesn't spark excitement in you, please keep applying to other job postings.

This is a pivotal leadership role at our firm, reporting to both Irene de Jesus, firm owner and current lead attorney, and Silvana de Jesus, COO. The role as Lead Attorney will slowly shift from Irene to you with a full transition in 1-2 years. As the Lead Attorney, you will be part of the leadership team alongside the Client Relations Director and Marketing Director and will be integral to our revenue generation strategy. You will lead our small but growing legal team and play a crucial role in developing our probate department, as well as potentially our guardianship and trust admin department(s).

This role does require travel primarily within Volusia County, specifically between our offices in  DeLand and New Smyrna Beach . This is a  hybrid role , so there is the  opportunity to work from home  when there are no client appointments in the office if you desire. We work with our team members to provide a balance, as much as possible, between working from home and working from the office. This role also includes about  two to four evenings a month  to host workshops throughout Volusia County. While we do not work on weekends, some weekends are required for team-related events/activities, CLEs, conferences, etc. Travel may be required for out-of-state conferences.

If you are a driven, honest, and loyal attorney who thrives in a collaborative, supportive, and growth-oriented environment, and you're ready to make a significant impact on a growing firm while maintaining a healthy work-life balance, we encourage you to apply.

To apply, complete the application here and upload your resume in a PDF format (Word format will not be read), including the DISC assessment, and upload a 1-2 minute video to the link below explaining 1) what makes you excited about working with us, 2) why you're the best candidate for the job, and 3) what are the benefits of you joining our team . Your application will not proceed without this. Please make sure your video and audio are clear.

We ask that all candidates refrain from reaching out to our intake team, as it can create additional work on their end to sift through clients and potential clients, as well as redirect candidates to this posting. Please only each out through other professional/recruiting platforms if you must.

Benefits:

  • Performance-based / Goal-hitting based bonuses. Our bonus structure is tied to clear, achievable goals related to practice area growth, client satisfaction, and overall firm profitability, directly rewarding your contribution to our shared success.
  • Hybrid work model offering flexibility. We genuinely believe in work-life integration. Our hybrid model and flexible work schedules are designed to empower you to maintain your personal well-being and family commitments, ensuring you can show up as your best self for both work and life.
  • Flexible PTO (unlimited as long as not abused and approved). We protect our team and support taking breaks when needed.
  • No weekend work , with the exception of occasional team-building events, community outreach, firm retreats, or professional conferences (some travel may be required for the latter two).
  • 401(k) matching opportunities after one year.
  • Health Care Stipend: While we currently do not offer health insurance (as a firm with under 10 employees), our projection is to provide health insurance coverage for our team members early next year and currently offer a $300/month health care stipend.
