Job Description
Faller, Davis & Associates, Inc. (FDA) is seeking to fill a full-time Human Resource Generalist position in Tampa. The successful applicant will have 4 to 5 years of experience in coordinating human resources activities including but not limited to employment and employee relations.
FDA is recognized as one of the pre-eminent engineering groups in the State of Florida. Our roadway design projects range from major reconstruction projects to milling and resurfacing, trails, sidewalks, and maintenance of traffic plans.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with administration of company-wide human resources policies, procedures, and practices in accordance with stated corporate objectives and federal and state legal requirements.
- Recruit and interview candidates.
- Coordinate hiring process, including but not limited to conducting background and reference checks, negotiating salary offers, and issuing job confirmation letters and other internal communication.
- Coordinate and/or conduct employee-relations activities and programs including but not limited to employee counseling, interpretation of policies, new employee orientation, and employee recognition programs.
- Coordinate programs to attract qualified candidates through the design and placement of position announcements, advertising, and/or participation in job fairs.
- Conduct exit interviews with employees; communicate findings to management.
- Respond to inquiries regarding the organization’s processes, policies, procedures, and programs.
- Conduct ongoing information and training sessions to develop employees and provide support and problem resolution.
- Coordinate distribution/communication of projects including but not limited to Employee Policy handbook, 401(k) open enrollment, and employee recognition.
- Identify potential employee-relations issues and make recommendations to management.
- Conduct investigations into claims of harassment or other company-guideline violations.
- Coordinate administration of workers’ compensation and unemployment claims.
- Assist in administration of company compensation and benefits programs.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent, four to six years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Working knowledge of HR laws and regulations.
- Experience in recruiting and staffing.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word and Excel required.
- Detail-oriented and organized.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team member.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Certified HR Professional – PHR or SHRM-CP.
