Salary Benefits

Starting pay $65,445 after 3 years $82,305

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Individuals wishing to apply for the eligibility list must successfully meet ALL the following requirements at the time of application:

• U. S. Citizen, conversant in English;
• 18 years of age at the time of application;
• Must present a High School Diploma or G.E.D. Equivalency;
• Must present documentation that you are certified as an Emergency Medical Technician
• Cardiac (EMTC) or are currently enrolled in an EMT Cardiac certification course;*Applicants must have a valid Rhode Island EMT-C license by the end of training and must agree to maintain certification as a condition of employment;
• Physical Performance Assessment (PPA) certification, no more than one (1) year old; administered by the Rhode Island Association of Fire Chiefs. Follow link for further information: Additional requirements:

New to the eligibility process is the requirement to submit a Firefighter Entry Level Exam Certificate administered by the Rhode Island Association of Fire Chiefs. Follow the link below for information:

NOTE:

*A swim test will be given to the top qualifying applicants.

Upon being considered for employment you will be required to pass a BCI check and a physical examination by a town appointed physician.
