Controller

**Hotel or hospitality accounting experience preferred

Summary:

The Controller in New Hope, PA leads and directs all accounting operations, encompassing real estate and hospitality operations. This role ensures full compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry (USALI), overseeing financial reporting, audit readiness, internal controls, and team leadership. The Controller is a key strategic partner responsible for upholding financial integrity, legal compliance, and operational excellence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Sage Intacct (experience required)

• Lead efforts to expand Sage Intacct use and act as liaison with support
• Collaborate with Project Managers to implement financial systems

Financial Reporting

• Produce monthly financial statements adhering to GAAP
• Review balance sheet monthly and perform reconciliations of all accounts
• Oversee journal entries and ensure compliance with GAAP
• Maintain internal controls for assets, liabilities, revenue, and costs
• Prepare profit and loss statements using Sage Intacct
• Review general ledger accounts for accuracy
• Record monthly interest on financed assets and amortize lease incentives
• Ensure revenue assurance and conduct interim self-audits
• Verify management reports and maintain documentation of monthly reconciliations
• Safeguard data integrity and collaborate with colleagues to correct errors

Budgets

• Assist with budget preparation and financial planning

Audits & Tax Returns

• Oversee annual audit process and serve as primary contact
• Prepare and file annual 1099-NEC forms

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Supervise finance department team members and recruit top talent
• Foster strong employee relations and promote maximum efficiency
• Provide financial training to the broader management team
• Establish measurable performance objectives and conduct timely appraisals
• Develop personal development plans for the Controller and Staff Accountants

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of experience as a Controller in hospitality, real estate, and/or retail
• Working knowledge of Sage Intacct Accounting Software
• Bachelor's degree in accounting (or equivalent experience)
