Job Description

We are looking for a warm, proactive, and thoughtful Family Assistant/Nanny to support a kind and grounded family in Bellevue, Washington. The ideal candidate will be a positive mentor figure who can offer equal parts guidance, structure, and fun while supporting their 2 teenage daughters day-to-day lives and helping the household run smoothly.

This is a hands-on, dynamic role that combines childcare, mentorship, and household assistance. You'll be a go-to person for helping the girls stay organized and supported academically, socially, and emotionally while also taking on light family assistant duties such as packing, scheduling, errands, and helping with the family dog. This is a great opportunity for someone who is responsible, values-driven, and excited to become an extension of a loving family.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tween Mentorship & Support: Build a close relationship with the girls by engaging in meaningful conversations, encouraging independence, and reinforcing respectful behavior and strong values. Be a positive role model and big-sister figure who helps them navigate the tween years with confidence and self-awareness.
  • School & Activity Logistics: Oversee daily school routines, assist with homework and school prep, coordinate extracurricular schedules, pack for activities and trips, and ensure they are set up for success each day.
  • Driving & Transportation: Drive the girls to and from school, activities, appointments, and outings in the family car. A clean driving record is required.
  • Food & Nutrition: Prepare healthy snacks and simple meals, and ensure the girls are eating well throughout the day.
  • Family Travel: Travel with the family for vacations and extended trips, including a six-week summer trip. Be hands-on with packing, organizing, and day-to-day support while away.
  • Light Household Support: Assist with tasks related to the girls—laundry, packing/unpacking, keeping their spaces tidy and organized, and running occasional errands.
  • Pet Care: Help care for the family’s sweet dog—letting him out, feeding, and taking for walks as needed.
  • Team Player: Work in tandem with another family assistant/nanny to coordinate coverage, divide responsibilities, and ensure everything runs smoothly—especially during weekends and travel.

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with tweens or school-aged children in a family assistant, nanny, or mentor role
  • A calm and confident presence with strong emotional intelligence and clear boundaries
  • The ability to model good habits, organization, and life skills
  • Previous travel experience with families, including packing and managing logistics
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills
  • A team-oriented mindset and willingness to collaborate with another caregiver
  • A valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Comfort around pets and willingness to help with basic dog care

Schedule:

  • Weekdays: Monday–Friday, 1:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
  • Weekends: Alternating or split coverage with the other nanny
  • Travel: Extended travel, including summers and occasional overnights while parents are away

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive hourly rate: $40/hour (plus overtime).
  • Full benefits package, including PTO (paid time off).
  • Family car provided for driving the children.
  • Overtime pay for extended hours and travel.
