Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develop and refine electrical system layouts, schematics, and specifications.
  • Review and process equipment and system submittals to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Prepare and modify drawings, ensuring accuracy and clarity in design documentation.
  • Utilize AutoCAD, Revit, and engineering analysis software for system design and documentation.
  • Conduct power system analysis, including short circuit, voltage drop, and arc flash studies.
  • Perform load calculations, lighting level analysis, and energy efficiency assessments.
  • Support equipment selection, panel schedules, and system coordination.
  • Ensure all designs adhere to NEC, energy codes, and client-specific guidelines.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate electrical designs into overall project plans.
  • Attend meetings with clients, architects, and contractors to resolve design issues and refine project scope.
  • Conduct site visits to evaluate existing electrical conditions and support field installations.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our design processes.
  • Provide engineering support during construction to ensure successful project execution.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, including power distribution and lighting systems.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and engineering analysis software.
  • Familiarity with NEC and other relevant electrical codes and standards.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret electrical specifications and technical documents.
  • Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Actively contribute to a collaborative team environment, where your expertise and innovative ideas are highly valued.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical design or engineering within the construction industry.
  • Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification preferred, with encouragement to pursue Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
  • Experience with commercial, high-rise residential, or data center projects is appreciated.
  • LEED AP® certification is appreciated.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Working Conditions

  • This position is based in our Santa Clara office and is not eligible for remote work.
  • Work may be performed in an office or on active job sites, depending on role and project needs.
  • Office work includes sitting, typing, and using a computer for extended periods.
  • Field environments may involve walking, standing, bending, or lifting materials (up to 30 lbs).
  • Noise levels range from quiet (office) to high (job sites).
  • May require occasional travel to project locations or meetings.
