Job Description

Prestige Staffing Services is seeking a strong leader with an extensive EHS Management background for a direct hire opportunity in the Greater San Antonio, Texas area.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Manage environmental, health, and safety activities through strong leadership, training, communication, and motivation.
  2. Guide the development and implementation of Health & Safety policies and programs.
  3. Coordinate and provide safety training for all employees in the areas of Safety, Fire Prevention, and Loss Control.
  4. Administer New Hire Orientation Safety Training.
  5. Investigate and maintain records for all work-related injuries and/or illnesses, provide statistical analysis, and assist department management in the development of effective health and safety counter-measures to continuously improve safety objectives.
  6. Oversee/Administer the Worker’s Compensation Program and implement an effective plan for minimizing and reducing worker injuries and associated costs in relationship to measurable data from State resources.
  7. Conduct routine workplace safety inspections and establish measurable standards from which further recommendations (continuous improvement) can be made, with effective follow-up.
  8. Coordinate emergency evacuation procedures, training, and practice drills.
  9. Direct management team relating to health and safety issues.
  10. Performs workplace inspections and monitors compliance with all policies and procedures.
  11. Establish safety goals and objectives, review of safety statistics and loss runs and lead formal management safety committee.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field of study.
  2. 5+ years of Health, Safety, and Environmental experience in a manufacturing facility.
  3. Must have a strong working knowledge of Industrial Ergonomics.
  4. Demonstrated strength with analytical/problem solving, oral and written communication, Microsoft Office applications and organizational skills.
  5. Certifications are desirable
