Job Title:

AutoCAD Specialist - P&ID Field Verification Technician

Position Summary:

Seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled P&ID Field Verification Technician to support hazard analysis preparation at the Ferndale Refinery. This role involves verifying field conditions against existing Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), identifying discrepancies, and updating drawings using AutoCAD. The technician will collaborate with process engineers and document control teams to ensure drawing accuracy and compliance with safety and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct field walkdowns to verify accuracy of P&IDs.
• Identify and document discrepancies including:
• Vent and drain sizes
• Drawing continuations
• Equipment specifications
• Car seal valve (CSV) numbers and statuses
• Dead legs and safety/maintenance issues
• Mark up and revise P&IDs using AutoCAD.
• Prepare check prints and redlines for engineering review.
• Finalize updates and coordinate with Document Control for repository posting.
• Support Management of Change (MOC) processes by updating impacted P&IDs.

Required Qualifications:

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting P&IDs, isometrics, and plan drawings.
• Strong AutoCAD drafting experience, specifically with P&ID updates.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Physically capable of extended fieldwork including walking, climbing ladders/stairs, and working at heights.
• Excellent communication skills for collaboration with engineers and operators.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in refinery, chemical, or industrial environments.
• Familiarity with engineering documentation and project document control systems.
• Knowledge of SAP Document Management System.
• Understanding of refinery safety protocols and PPE requirements.

Working Conditions:

• Extensive fieldwork in refinery conditions.
• Must be comfortable working at heights and climbing towers up to 100 feet.
