Job Title : Director of Communications Employment Type : Full-Time

Locatio n: Blue Bell, PA/hybrid

About the Role FSA is seeking a forward-thinking and dynamic Director of Communications to lead the strategic communications efforts of our organization. As a national professional association of organizations serving older adults, FSA supports staff and governing boards through education, board and organizational development and compliance services.

This is an exciting time to join FSA, as we prepare to merge with MHS Association, another values-aligned human services organization in January of 2026. The Director of Communications will play a pivotal role in guiding the branding effort for the new organization, ensuring a seamless and impactful transition while maintaining consistency in brand articulation and positioning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in leading the branding campaign for the new organization resulting from the upcoming merger, ensuring a successful launch and stakeholder engagement.
  • Support staff in effectively communicating with member and client organizations.
  • Maintain and enhance consistent positioning and brand expression across all communications.
  • Develop and implement a cohesive strategy for communications, website management, events, social media, public relations, and presentations.
  • Create, execute, and evaluate an annual communications plan in partnership with leadership.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align communications with strategic goals and initiatives.
  • Lead the planning and execution of key organizational events, including the annual meeting, conference, educational sessions, and other gatherings. Responsibilities include agenda setting, speaker coordination, logistics, and promotion.
  • Oversee the development, design, and distribution of all print and digital collateral, such as newsletters, brochures, websites, email marketing, and social media content.
  • Manage media relations, fostering positive organizational representation.
  • Track and measure the impact of communication efforts using relevant metrics.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in marketing, communications or related field
  • Project management skills to drive the successful execution of ongoing and long-term communications initiatives.
  • Creativity, flexibility and ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects with varied timelines.
  • Proven leadership skills, ability to oversee the work of vendors and two communications staff members, maintaining a high-functioning, collaborative team.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and experience working with a database. (Experience with Neon, Drupal, Discourse, Canva or Adobe CS/CC a plus.)
  • Web editing and email marketing experience and knowledge of best practices.
