Job Description

The ideal candidate will be responsible for using computer-aided tools to design, resize or modify equipment and components for manufacturing, working closely with business unit sales groups, customers, production floor and other engineering personnel.

Responsibilities

• Use Inventor and AutoCAD 3D modeling software to design product changes and innovations, and to create prints for use by the shop floor
• Perform finite element analyses (FEA)
• Create costed bills of materials and routings in order to standardize parts, and make ECN changes as needed
• Develop specifications for purchased materials and fabricated components, identify sources, solicit quotes, and select vendors
• Provide design reports for major projects identifying design processes, calculations, safety factors, estimated costs, functional analyses, and FEA or other simulation results

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Agricultural or Structural Engineering
• Proficiency in FEA, and in Inventor, SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD 3D modeling software
• Able to effectively use Microsoft Office programs
