About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Data Scientist to join our team and drive innovative video automation projects by leveraging Python expertise and AI techniques to create impactful, production-ready solutions. 

In this role, you will develop and optimize video processing workflows—decoding, indexing, and understanding video content—while exploring multi-modal large language models (LLMs) to push the boundaries of video understanding and repurposing. 

Ideal candidates will also have an interest in model training and optimization, contributing to the design and refinement of foundational AI models, and collaborating closely with software engineers and AI specialists to bring solutions into production.

What You’ll Own

• Design and build Python-based tools and algorithms to address video processing needs, such as subject tracking, quality filtering, and workflow optimization.
• Partner with engineering teams to integrate your solutions into scalable, production environments.
• Apply open-source and proprietary foundational models to develop advanced video understanding systems.
• (Ideal) Support AI model training initiatives by contributing to synthetic data preparation, fine-tuning tasks, and model evaluation for video-related applications.

What We're Looking For

• Strong command of Python for developing robust, efficient code.
• Hands-on experience with multi-modal LLMs and their real-world applications.
• Knowledge of open-source LLM frameworks (e.g., Hugging Face, PyTorch).
• Proficiency with computer vision libraries and tools (e.g., FFMPEG, OpenCV).
• Competence in data analysis using Python ecosystem tools (e.g., SQL, Pandas, Scikit-learn).
• Experience managing collaborative codebases and environments (e.g., GitHub, Jira, venv).

Ideal (Not Required) Qualifications:

• Familiarity with synthetic data generation pipelines and best practices.
• Experience fine-tuning large language models (e.g., using SFT, LoRA, DPO techniques).
