Job Description

ORGANIZATION :

SGC is a glass and glazing company specializing in all aspects of residential and commercial glass installation, repair, and replacement. The family-owned company has been serving Northern Colorado clients since 1961, including homebuilders, remodelers, institutions, and commercial contractors.

As the Front Desk Administrative Assistant/ Customer Service Representative, you will provide administrative and clerical support associated with the business headquarters for Slade Glass Co. This position supports a diverse array of support staff to ensure our business offices operate efficiently.

Additionally, you will serve as the face and voice of the company as you will normally be the very first contact our customers have with us. As a result, we are looking for a team member with a dynamic, customer-oriented personality.

The goal is to ensure superb administrative assistance to our staff and 5-star customer service that routinely exceeds the expectations of our demanding customers.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

1. Performs all front desk responsibilities including but not limited to welcoming visitors/customers, answering phones, distributing mail, document scanning and copying, ordering and organizing office supplies.

2. Assisting both call-in, walk-in, and email customers with scheduling appointments, ordering products, order pick-up and cash out, and general information.

3. Learning the glass business to facilitate successful inside sales.

4. Maintains/supports internal communications by notifying various levels of employees of all relevant customer or job-based information.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Co-manages our company's front desk and reception area by greeting and assisting all visitors and customers.
  • Provides telephone support for incoming customer service calls and emails to maintain our professional standards and to ensure prompt response to customers, vendors, or visitors requesting assistance.
  • Assists in managing office inventory with respect to ordering of supplies, documenting their receipt, and releasing them to employees.
  • Overseeing the continuous flow of interoffice communications.
  • Preparing general correspondence, conducting document review, and processing for managers.
  • Meeting attendance and note-taking as needed.
  • Learning and understanding the glass and glazing business at high level, with primary emphasis on residential sales and service.
  • Tracking project deadlines and communicating them to managers.
  • Lead special projects as needed for the general manager or operations manager as directed.
  • Other administrative duties as directed.

JOB REQUIREMENTS :

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and general computer software programs are a must.
  • Self-starter and team player, capable of open and honest feedback.
  • Strong organizational and critical thinking, skills, and the ability to stay calm and on task in a busy office setting.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, comfortable working with all levels of company employees.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend standard business English; ability to use proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
  • Ability to assemble items of information in accordance with established procedures.
  • Ability to file and retrieve material in accordance with standard filing procedures.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Operationally focused; takes initiative to problem solve at the lowest level and is customer centric.
  • Construction or trades experience preferred, but not necessary.
  • Adhere to our company policies and procedures, demonstrating our core values, professional, and ethical behavior at all times.

EDUCATION :

  • High school diploma or equivalent; an associate's degree or higher is preferred; equivalent work experience acceptable.

COMPENSATION :

  • Pay commensurate with experience, expertise and qualifications as outlined.

TRAVEL & LOCATION : No travel required. Location of employment is in Boulder, CO. Occasional work from home possible after initial observation period.
