Job Description

LHH is proud to partner with a mission-driven nonprofit in Anne Arundel County to hire a Community Engagement Specialist. This is a full-time, onsite role (Monday–Friday) paying $25–$28 per hour, offered as a temporary position expected to last 2+ months, with potential for extension. An immediate start is preferred. In this vital position, you’ll support individuals and families as access essential community resources. You’ll also play a key role in strengthening partnerships with local service providers, ensuring clients receive the guidance and support needed to achieve stability and self-sufficiency. Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Support & Outreach
  • Guide clients through program enrollment, ensuring understanding of requirements and assisting with applications and document collection.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for individuals seeking housing stability and self-sufficiency.
  • Develop and monitor personalized plans to support clients’ financial and housing goals.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external agencies to connect clients with essential resources.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with landlords and legal service providers.
  • Act as a bridge between clients and local service providers, offering referrals and support.
  • Respond to community inquiries, assist with appointment scheduling, and follow up on documentation.
  • Maintain detailed client records and databases while ensuring strict confidentiality.
  • Generate accurate reports and ensure compliance with all organizational and legal guidelines.
  • Educate clients on housing responsibilities, lease agreements, and available support services.
  • Stay informed on public benefits, housing programs, and local resources to better serve the community.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree preferred; relevant experience considered.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a deep respect for diverse communities.
  • Comfortable managing sensitive information and working in fast-paced, collaborative environments.
  • Proficiency with digital tools for case management, communication, and record-keeping.
