Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Civil Construction Estimator to take ownership of the estimating process for public works and heavy civil construction projects. This key role provides both technical expertise and leadership, ensuring estimates are accurate, competitive, and aligned with company performance goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the full estimating process for multiple projects.
• Solicit and evaluate bids from vendors and subcontractors, track responses, and prepare comprehensive estimate reports.
• Assist with the preparation of technical narratives for RFPs and RFQs.
• Continuously improve and refine estimating processes and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders.
• Ensure estimates are completed accurately, on time, and within assigned budgets, including review sessions with senior management.
• Stay current with industry trends and best practices through active participation in professional organizations.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

• Experience: Minimum of 8 years in heavy civil construction, with at least 3 years dedicated to estimating.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of earthwork and concrete construction practices.
• Contracting: Expertise in unit price contracting.
• Software: Experience with HCSS Heavy Bid, Bluebeam, and InSite Takeoff preferred.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering preferred.
• Flexibility: Ability to travel regionally as required.
