Job Description

We are seeking a driven and relationship-focused Business Development Manager (BDM) to expand our client base in the manufacturing sector. You will be responsible for identifying, pursuing, and securing new business opportunities while fostering long-term relationships with decision-makers in maintenance, plant operations, and HR.

This role is ideal for someone who understands industrial staffing, thrives in a consultative sales environment, and enjoys helping manufacturers solve critical labor and uptime challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Prospecting of potential clients in the manufacturing industry.
  • Work with the Lead Generation Team to help close potential opportunities and increase client inflow.
  • Conduct outbound sales activities: cold calling, emailing, networking, and attending industry events.
  • Attend trade shows for the purpose of building relationships and generating sales activity
  • Establish relationships with plant managers, maintenance supervisors, HR teams, and procurement leads.
  • Understand client pain points and position our skilled maintenance staffing solutions effectively.
  • Create and present proposals, pricing models, and staffing plans tailored to client needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of all sales activities and opportunities in CRM (i.e. HubSpot).
  • Stay informed on industry trends, labor regulations, and competitors.
  • Achieve or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of B2B sales experience, preferably in staffing, industrial services, or manufacturing.
  • Strong sales and persuasion abilities, and ability to negotiate and close deals
  • Strong understanding of the manufacturing industry, production needs and safety standards.
  • Self-starter with excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% annually
  • Understanding of contract, contract-to-hire, and direct placement staffing models.
  • Prior experience working in or selling to maintenance teams (mechanical, electrical, automation, etc.).
  • Familiarity with skilled trades roles, such as maintenance mechanics, industrial electricians, and automation technicians.
