Senior Applications Engineer - High-Speed Automation and Robotics

Compensation:

This is a senior-level position offering a competitive annual salary in the range of $100,000 to $130,000, commensurate with experience. Additionally, a performance-based bonus structure will reward your contributions to the success of our projects and company growth.

Position Overview:

As a Senior Applications Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and implementing high-speed automation and robotics solutions for our clients. Your expertise in machinery, particularly in robotics, conveyors, packaging, and other high-speed equipment, will be critical in addressing complex challenges and tailoring solutions to meet specific client needs. You will collaborate closely with clients, internal teams, and stakeholders to ensure the successful deployment of state-of-the-art automation systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with clients to understand their automation needs and requirements, translating them into actionable solutions.
  • Lead the creation of detailed technical proposals, RFQ responses, and project quotes, ensuring accuracy and alignment with client expectations.
  • Design and architect automation systems, considering factors such as cycle timing, feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and scalability.
  • Leverage your deep understanding of high-speed machinery to provide insights and recommendations during the conceptualization and development phases.
  • Utilize your proficiency in costing to develop accurate project budgets and ensure projects are financially viable.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and sales, to coordinate project execution and ensure seamless integration.
  • Provide technical support during the installation, testing, and commissioning of automation systems, ensuring optimal performance and functionality.
  • Act as a technical liaison between clients and internal teams, addressing questions, concerns, and modifications as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continuously enhance your expertise and contribute to our innovation efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field is strongly preferred
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in the design, development, and implementation of high-speed automation and robotics systems.
  • Strong background in machinery, with expertise in robotics, conveyors, packaging, or similar high-speed equipment.
  • Proficiency in creating detailed technical proposals, RFQ responses, and project quotes.
  • In-depth knowledge of system architecture, cycle timing, feasibility assessment, and costing.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to hold technical conversations with clients and colleagues.
  • Client-oriented mindset with a track record of building strong relationships and providing exceptional customer service.
  • Project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
