Job Description

We have been engaged on an exclusive basis by a premier financial services company with offices in Boston and does business in the insurance sector. This job will be based in Boston and the client is willing to offer relocation to the right candidate. Their legal department consists of the best talent from top ranked law firms. They are looking for a lawyer with a background in insurance M&A to advise the team that does strategic investments and transactions. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team and play an important role with a wide range of responsibilities. The acquisitions will involve insurance brokers, insure techs, and other companies that serve the insurance industry.

They are looking for a corporate attorney who can help with:

1. Due diligence, deal structuring, term sheet development, and deal execution
2. Leading negotiations with the investment team and managing legal risk while taking transactions to the desired commercial outcome, including advising on risk relevant to the insurance industry
3. Managing outside counsel working on transactions
4. Developing standards and processes for transactions
5. Liaising among a variety of internal stakeholders

Qualifications

1. 5-12 years’ experience from a top tier law firm; in-house experience a plus
2. Experience advising insurance or insurance adjacent companies on M&A transactions and experience with complex capital structures. Insurance adjacent companies include insurance brokers, insure techs, and other companies that serve the insurance industry.
3. BA/BS and JD from top institutions
4. In office three days a week, but preference is for people willing to be in office four days a week
