Required Skills/Qualifications:

8-12 years of relevant experience in the data governance and data management space

Bachelor's and/or master’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience

Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail

Desired Experience:

Minimum of 8 years of experience in data governance, data management, or related fields.

Proven experience in defining and implementing data governance frameworks, policies, standards, and procedures across organizations.

Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and ensuring compliance through effective data governance practices.

Experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams to align data governance policies with organizational objectives.

Hands-on experience with data governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation, Informatica, or similar) and automation tools like Power Automate.

Knowledge of data quality management, metadata management, and data lineage.

Experience in developing and enforcing data standards and procedures across teams or departments.

Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to address challenges in implementing and maintaining data governance frameworks.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with stakeholders at all levels.

Responsibilities:

Data Governance Framework Implementation:

Lead the design, development, and implementation of data governance frameworks, policies, standards, and procedures.

Ensure data governance practices align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.

Standards and Procedures Development:

Define and enforce data standards and procedures across teams and departments.

Continuously refine and update standards to ensure adaptability as the organization evolves.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (IT, legal, compliance, business units) to ensure data governance policies are understood and followed.

Act as a liaison between technical and non-technical stakeholders to communicate data governance requirements effectively.

Challenges and Problem-Solving:

Identify and address challenges in implementing data governance frameworks, such as resistance to change or lack of alignment.

Develop strategies to ensure data governance policies remain flexible and scalable as the organization grows.

Automation and Workflow Management:

Design and implement automated workflows (e.g., using Power Automate) to streamline data governance processes, such as approval workflows for data standards in SharePoint.

Reporting and Monitoring:

Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to monitor data governance performance.

Define and track KPIs and metrics to measure the effectiveness of data governance initiatives.

Ensure compliance by creating accurate and complete compliance reports.

Training and Awareness:

Conduct training sessions and workshops to raise awareness about data governance policies and best practices.

Foster a culture of data stewardship and accountability across the organization.

Key Skills:

Data Governance Expertise: Policy development, standards enforcement, and framework implementation.

Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA).

Technical Proficiency: Experience with data governance tools, automation tools (e.g., Power Automate), and metadata management.

Collaboration: Strong ability to work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Problem-Solving: Ability to address challenges in data governance implementation and maintenance.

Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey complex data governance concepts.
