Position: CNC Machinists (2nd Shift )

Exact Location: Chesapeake, VA

Duration: 1040 hours contract to hire

Working Hours: M-F, 3pm-1:30AM

Pay Range $27.50 - $33 per hour - 10% 2nd Shift Differential and unlimited OT @ 1.5x pay

Interview: 1 and Done video call.

Must Haves:

• Education: Three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge: Incumbent must have proficient knowledge in the following areas:
• Knowledge of the Metric System/ Standard System. Skills: Incumbent must demonstrate or participate in internal/external training programs to obtain the following skills:
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Must be able to operate and read precise measuring instruments associated with the job.
• Must be able to operate material handling equipment associated with the job.

Day-to-day:

• General Scope: Ability to operate and setup all types of CNC, NC, and conventional machines.(NIGHT SHIFT) Position Summary:
• Load tools in machine that have been pre-set in tool room.
• Load program in machine control.
• Take test cut and measure before finish machining.
• Adjust machine settings, according to blueprints, if necessary.
• Check and change tooling.
• Adjust speeds and feeds as needed.
• Must be able to run conventional machines as well with proficiency.
• Must have the ability to make and edit programs without programmer assistance.
• Perform minor machine maintenance such as oil, filter and coolant levels, removal of chips from machine.
