Job Description

Job Summary
This position is responsible for building relationships with individuals and families who have been displaced by gentrification or have been impacted by community violence by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties:

  • Observes and engages with the community on the assigned area as determined by what is happening in the community and community requests.
  • Provides resources and support to individuals and the community based on needs.
  • Builds relationships with members of the community and other partners.

Job Duties:

  • Works to attain the goals of reducing community violence.
  • Supports and assists youth and their families in accessing social and educational services.
  • Acts as a mentor, life coach, positive role model, advocate, and mediator for clients.
  • Consistently check-in with team to ensure safety.
  • Provide weekly reports to supervisor. 
  • Ability to respond and work outside regular work hours based on community needs and situations. 
  • Attend meetings as required by Community Outreach Supervisor.
  • Maintains punctual, regular and predictable attendance.
  • Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
  • Respectfully takes direction from supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Experience/Education:
A range of lived experiences such as providing resources to the populations we serve, working with high-risk youth, former involvement with gangs, or any other like experience. Education is not required for this role but is a plus. Experience providing outreach services is also a plus.

Certificates, Licenses, and/or Registrations:

This position requires a driver’s license and proof of insurance.
