Job Title: Business Analyst I

Location: Houston, TX

Contract Duration: 6 - 12 month with possibility of extension and/or conversion

Schedule: Standard Business Hours, Monday – Friday

Qualifications:

• High school diploma with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience (Required) .
• Familiarity with power companies is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, PeopleSoft, Time, EERS, and PassPort (Required) .
• Experience developing customized reports using integrated systems like PeopleSoft, Passport, and Impromptu.
• Strong organizational, mathematical, and analytical skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.

Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Business Analyst I to join our team in Houston, TX. This role focuses on supporting business functions in power delivery settings, primarily handling customer payment postings and reconciliation. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, proficiency in various business applications, and the ability to work independently while ensuring accuracy in financial transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately post manual and electronic customer payments.
• Research check payments daily to match them with customer accounts.
• Verify accuracy, investigate discrepancies, and reconcile payment errors.
• Identify and resolve payment issues in a timely manner.
• Reconcile daily payment transactions.
• Assist with special projects as assigned.
• Perform other clerical and administrative support tasks as needed.
